In 2005, Mr. Xu Liu founded Shandong Aikte Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., formally embarking on the industrialization of energy-saving and environmental protection technologies. He led his team to break away from traditional engineering approaches, pioneering system-level integration solutions built on “energy-saving thinking” across multiple industries. His work has focused on solving the challenges of recovering low- and medium-grade waste heat in high-energy-consuming environments such as mines, chemical plants, and building materials facilities.
After nearly two decades of continuous advancement, Aikte has successfully completed a large number of energy retrofit projects across eight provinces in China, achieving both engineering implementation and measurable energy savings.

With a strong engineering background and prior experience working in a central state-owned construction enterprise, Mr. Liu was involved early on in design discussions for foreign-funded waste heat recovery projects. These experiences inspired a shift from “product-based thinking” to a “systems-design mindset.”
Under his leadership, Aikte moved early from “single-point retrofits” to “system-wide energy optimization,” advancing the belief that “every retrofit should deliver a second breakthrough.”

Mr. Liu sees energy conservation not as simply “selling equipment” but as a fundamental restructuring of a company’s energy usage, workforce configuration, process design, and management philosophy. To address the complexity and decentralization of coal mine energy systems, he pioneered a digital management model based on “remote patrol + mobile diagnostics,” dramatically reducing the response time for energy assessments and fault handling.

Aikte also became one of the first in the industry to achieve full-cycle closed-loop management of energy-saving systems—from on-site assessment, system design, and construction to remote monitoring, client training, and operational diagnostics.
Mr. Liu personally holds multiple software copyrights for intelligent control systems, has been included in the Shandong Provincial Recommended Catalogue of Energy-Saving Technologies and Equipment, and has received several provincial-level honors.

Mr. Liu consistently emphasizes that energy conservation should not be treated as a one-time project, but as a core driver of enterprise capability development. He views every retrofit as an opportunity to advance the company’s technical system and organizational maturity.
Guided by this philosophy, Aikte has built a leading platform for recovering low-grade thermal energy and continues to promote the standardization and digitization of engineering practices.
