Mr. Xu Liu is the founder and core technical lead of Shandong Aikte Energy Conservation & Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. and EcoRoc Inc. in the United States. He brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience and innovation in industrial and building energy efficiency systems.

Early in his career, he worked at China’s largest construction enterprise—China Railway Construction Group—where he developed a strong foundation in HVAC and thermal engineering. Since 2005, he has dedicated himself to the field of energy conservation, striving to transform industrial waste heat into stable and reliable energy solutions.

Beginning in 2007, Mr. Liu led his team in developing and implementing recovery systems for low- to medium-grade thermal energy—such as mine ventilation exhaust, underground geothermal water, and equipment-generated heat—across coal mines and industrial parks. Over time, this work evolved into a comprehensive and mature system for staged energy utilization. The energy-saving projects he directed span eight provinces in China, generating cumulative economic benefits in the billions of RMB, with several projects recognized as industry benchmarks.

A firm believer in “technical innovation with real-world impact,” Mr. Liu advocates for moving beyond isolated equipment upgrades to achieve system-wide thermal management improvements. He has personally led the development of numerous patented control systems and technical solutions, now widely implemented in sectors including coal mining, chemical production, building materials, and residential heating—delivering lasting economic and societal value.

In recent years, Mr. Liu has also played an active role in promoting U.S.-China collaboration in energy technologies. He founded EcoRoc Inc. and is currently leading efforts to establish a new energy-efficient building materials production line in the U.S., bringing proven Chinese energy-saving models to global markets.

Highly regarded by industry scholars, design institute experts, and university professors, Mr. Liu is often described as “a visionary leader who combines engineering rigor with a spirit of innovation.” As a board member of the China Energy Conservation Association, he also contributes to policy development and professional forums, driving the broader adoption of energy-saving technologies worldwide.
